Distilled lime oil is colourless to slightly yellow / green in colour and has a complex olfactory profile with citrusy, floral, balsamic and woody nuances which, as an important component of cola flavours, contribute to their aroma profile. For our customers we create extracts, fragrances and ingredients, which are mainly used in different areas of the flavor and fragrance industry. Distilled lime oil is obtained from the crushed fruits by steam distillation. Mexico is by far the most important country for the production of oil, with a market share of over 50 %. Peru is another important production country. The oil yield is around 4 kilograms of oil per 1000 kilograms of processed fruit. Every year between 500,000 and 1,000,000 kilograms of distilled lime oil are produced worldwide.
